Social Department

We are a diverse team of social workers and social service workers. Our common goal is to pull together with people with mental illness. We are here for our clients and for you too. We are mental illness guides for anyone who needs help. So do not hesitate to contact any of our services that might be useful to you.

SOCIAL COUNSELLING

Social counselling is the provision of necessary information on the possibilities of solving an unfavourable social situation or on ways of preventing it. Mental illness can cause a number of difficulties in different life situations.

Sheltered housing

We help people with serious mental illnesses, such as psychosis or affective disorders, who are currently undergoing outpatient psychiatric treatment, to acquire the skills needed to live independently so that they can lead normal and, above all, happy lives.

IN SHELTERED CONDITIONS, THE CLIENT HAS THE OPPORTUNITY TO TRY OUT

  • Household care (cleaning, shopping, cooking),
  • managing finances,
  • taking care of their own person, gaining insight into their illness,
  • dealing with everyday situations, daily routines,
  • making use of the resources available in the community, especially leisure opportunities, joining in activities, forming neighbourhood and friendship relationships...

We also offer clients support in finding and maintaining employment, subsequent housing, linkages to other important services, and accompaniment to agencies and doctors' appointments.

The service is provided for one year at a time, with the possibility of gradual annual extensions for a maximum of 3 years. Active use of the service and motivation to recover are also a condition of admission. The service does not only provide accommodation services.

ADMISSION CRITERIA

  • Age 18-64 years,
  • Permanent or long-term residence in Prague (Preference is given to clients with permanent residence in Prague 4),
  • regular cooperation with a psychiatrist, compensated psychological condition,
  • not currently using any addictive substances,
  • willingness to cooperate regularly with a key worker,
  • the applicant's goals are in line with the scope, extent and possibilities of the service,
  • self-sufficiency in self-care tasks.

Accommodation capacity

Clients live in self-contained flats in mainstream housing. Our housing offers accommodation in 2 flats in Prague 4. They are equipped with standard furniture and household appliances. The client has a bathroom and a kitchen for preparing meals. WiFi is available at the apartments.

Staff is available on weekdays from 8 am to 4:30 pm.

Sheltered housing is training, temporary and is not a substitute for social housing.

Payment for the service

The client pays the costs of the accommodation in the amount of 8.000 CZK/month.

Other acts of care in accordance with § 17 of Decree 505/2006 Coll. are provided free of charge.

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN OUR HELP?

Please contact us to arrange an initial interview during which you will learn all the information about sheltered housing and possible future cooperation. The initial interview can take place at our DPS Ondřejov. If the applicant is hospitalized, the interview can take place in the hospital.
