The Ondřejov Day Psychotherapy Sanatorium helps hundreds of clients annually who are struggling with addiction to alcohol, drugs or pathological gambling. The care includes a day hospital, aftercare and motivational groups. "We see addiction as the tip of the iceberg - it's usually not just a problem with a particular addictive substance. Seeing the relational context of the client's life is important to address the problem situation. The client's willingness to take responsibility for his/her life story and way of life is essential for success," said Mgr. Dan Ullwer.
A powerful moment of the conference was the testimony of a client of the facility who shared his journey out of addiction. His story showed that even in the most difficult moments it is possible to find support, motivation to change and return to a normal life. "This is my third year attending a treatment group. Thanks to the help of DPS Ondřejov experts, I got to know myself and understood where my problem was. I would recommend everyone who is struggling with addiction to seek professional help," said Jiří Novák, a client of DPS Ondřejov.
Addictions are not avoiding the work teams either. Companies today face increasing psychosocial challenges that affect employee health and performance. Therefore, prevention in the work environment is crucial. It protects not only the individual, but also the entire team.
