Chestnut - social cognition and interaction training

The program is primarily for clients who have experience with psychotic illness. If space is available, we also offer the program to clients with other mental illnesses.

The goal of the program is to learn to recognize emotions in oneself and in other people and to be able to relate them to particular social situations. Another goal is to help develop critical thinking skills. The final phase of the programme is aimed at applying the skills acquired to the clients' real life in order to improve their interactions with other people.

The programme was primarily designed for clients with psychotic illness and its methods are based on three therapeutic orientations: integrated psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy and cognition-focused therapy. The programme is also inspired by neurocognitive approaches and helps to develop memory, attention and reasoning.
