Want to learn more about the role of emotions in communication? Are you interested in improving your empathic listening and assertive self-presentation? Would you like to handle conflict situations with more insight? If you answered yes to most of these questions, this course is for you.
The course consists of two parts: theoretical and practical. In the theory, we will introduce the basic emotions and you will learn about different communication techniques in a fun way. The practical part will be dedicated to preparing for specific social situations through role-playing.
The course is primarily aimed at patients with schizophrenic illness or experience of psychosis.
What makes the programme special?
-
Less stress
Communication with other people is an integral part of everyday life. However, social situations can also be a great source of stress. Long-term stress then leads to psychological discomfort and can have an impact on deteriorating health. This course should help clients to cope with social situations with greater perspective and reduce the level of stress experienced.
-
Practical focus of the course
This course stands out from others because of its practical focus. Clients directly apply the theoretical knowledge about emotions and communication techniques to specific social situations that are important to them. Through role-playing, individual situations are re-enacted and the main actor receives feedback from others. This is actually an experiential form of learning, which is much more effective than classical forms of learning.
-
Adapting to the needs of the clients
Participants decide for themselves which specific social situation they would like to focus on more. Each person may find different situations difficult, such as job interviews, dealing with a supervisor, communicating their needs to loved ones, getting to know a potential spouse/partner, and many more...
